Adele Oliveira (formerly Adele Melander-Dayton) is an award-winning writer based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Adele was a general assignment reporter at The Santa Fe New Mexican from 2012-2013 and contributes regularly to Pasatiempo, the paper's weekly arts and culture magazine. Adele has written for The Kirkus Review, Salon, Narratively, Jezebel, Bitch Magazine, Longreads, and other publications. She has a BA in English from Vassar College and an MA in journalism from New York University's Cultural Reporting and Criticism program. Beginning in July, 2016, she will be an MFA candidate in creative writing at the Institute of American Indian Arts. Raised in Santa Fe, Adele returned to New Mexico in 2012. She loves living in the Land of Enchantment with her husband, daughter, dog, and two cats.
